Reflex Tuning OBD2 VR6 Performance Chip

This is the chip you have all been waiting for. Written by C2 Motorsports specifically for Reflex Tuning, it is hands down the best performance file for the mk3 vr6 on the market today.

Improvements include:

  • Snappier throttle response
  • Better midrange power
  • Improved overall drive ability
  • Increased the rev limiter to 7200rpm
  • Deleted speed governor
  • Harder to stall off idle
  • Optimum A/F ratios

Not only is this a performance file, but it also deletes the secondary air injection pump and the rear oxygen sensor while still setting readiness. This gives you the option of running a test pipe (catalytic converter delete) without having to worry about a check engine light.

This file is tuned on 93 octane, however the ECU will pull enough timing if you had to run 91 or even 89. The chip will also works very well with a pair of performance cams.

DISCLAIMER: Because of the nature of the this chip, it is being sold for OFF ROAD/TRACK use only. Street use is at your own discretion.

**A handful of cars (about 4%) are experiencing a low idle issue. The cause is not the chip, it is something that the few cars have in common.

FAQs

Will readiness codes be set to pass emissions without a secondary air pump or post cat o2 sensor?
Yes, readiness codes are set to pass, but as stated above, the chip is being sold for off road use only. Street use and emissions testing use is at your own risk/discretion.

What if you leave the rear o2 plugged in?

It's perfectly fine to leave the rear o2 sensor plugged in because the computer ignores it like it's not even there.

Will keeping the rear o2 sensor but deleting the secondary air pump be an option?
Sorry, but currently that is not going to be an option. The computer ignores both the SAI and the rear o2 like they're not even there... you can keep both on the car for visual, but they're disabled.

What kind of numbers are to be expected? Any charts yet?
No dyno sheets as of now. We are planning on posting one up in the near future.

Can this file be used with a set of cams?
Absolutely. there is enough room built into the tune to compensate for cams. If you have a set of 268 cams or larger please choose the correct choice when ordering.

Any plans for an OBD1 file that will delete the SAI?
As of right now, there are no plans for doing an OBD1 file.

Can the chip handle different compression ratios?
No, the chip is written for stock compression only. Even a mk4 head gasket is not recommended.

How does the chip effect gas mileage with the rear o2 being deleted?

The chip will not negatively effect gas mileage. As a result of the tune, gas mileage should increase under cruising conditions.

Trouble Shooting

I installed my chip and my CEL is still on.
If you had a CEL before as a direct result from a rear o2 or SAI code and you did not clear the codes before you installed the C2 chip, then yes you will still have a CEL until you clear them. Codes are stored in the ECU not the chip.

I installed my chip and my car does not start.
If this happens make sure the chip is secure in the ECU chip socket, and all the pins are lined up properly. If the car still does not start. Put your old chip back in and see if it starts. If it starts with the old chip please contact us for further assistance. If it does not start with the old chip then this is due to an installation error or a bad ECU. The C2 chip is passive, and there is no possible way that the chip can harm your ECU.

I installed my chip and on cold starts the car idles low and stumbles right off the line.
Adapt your throttle body ONCE. Every time a TBA procedure is run this process goes back to the beginning and the 'home' position must be re-learned.

The best/quickest way to get the idle adapted is to allow car to idle until fully warm on the 1st cold start, and allow as much time idling as possible when at stop lights ect... do not 'help' ecu by taping gas pedal, as this stops the learning process.

The cause is not the chip, it is something that the few cars have in common. We will not be accepting returns due to this problem.
